Ylang-Ylang essential oil grade extra is obtained from the distillation of the flowers in the beginning of the front "extraction fraction" during the first two hours of the distillation. This is the grade that has more odorous molecules, the densest and the richest aroma and quality. The extra is the most sought and esteemed oil in the world because it is rich in benzyl acetate, and the most fruity and pleasant of all the grades. Generally, China and India and Africa water down all of their oils to Grade III (3) or lower, which is not comparable nor as clean.
